Welcome!

I recently started as an Associate Director of Research and Policy at CEGA. In this role, I work on policy-relevant research projects related to CEGA's Psychology and Economics of Poverty (PEP) Initiative.

I completed my PhD in Economics at UC Berkeley, where I was also a postdoctoral scholar. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Pepperdine University.

Maddie’s research focuses on poverty and inequality, with particular interests in the psychology of poverty, human capital development, and the intergenerational transmission of poverty.
